Technology Gateway Manager

Munster Technological University are currently recruiting for the role of manager of IMaR Technology Gateway. This is an exciting role in which the successful candidate will be responsible for driving the industry collaboration activity and commercialization focus of the Gateway. S/he will be responsible for promoting, securing and successfully delivering on the targeted level of industrial collaborative projects. The role will involve managing the industrial engagement process with Irish industry, new business development and working closely with the IMaR team, to develop and implement strategies to further progress IMaR competencies through delivering world class research for industry, as well as driving the basic applied research portfolios for each respective strand within the IMaR Technology Gateway. The IMaR Technology Gateway Manager will
report to the IMaR Centre Director, Enterprise Ireland and the IMaR Industrial Steering Committee. The post is tenable up to 31st December 2022.

Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a highly motivated, Mechanical Design Engineer to join the research team at IMaR. The successful candidate will collaboratively work and contribute to a cutting-edge research project for robot attachment design and integration for dynamic applications in the AgriTech domain.

The successful candidate should have a Masters in Engineering or minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience or ideally a PhD in Robotics or equivalent or relevant industry experience.

Automation Research Engineer

IMaR currently have an opening for a motivated and creative Automation Research Engineer to work within a team of mechanical and electronic engineers in the development of a prototype laboratory testing automation solution for a major client in the food sector.

The successful candidate will have experience in mechatronic / automation technologies including industrial
robot integration, industrial interfacing / communications systems, control panel design, HMI, safety, quality
management systems and a reasonable understanding of statistics, data analytics and computer vision.

Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering Research Assistant

IMaR currently have an opening for a highly motivated Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineering Research Assistant to work within a team of mechanical, automation and electronic engineers in the development of a prototype laboratory testing automation solution for a major client in the food sector.

Researcher in Full Stack Development

IMaR currently have an opening for a highly motivated Software Developer as part of the SFI-funded Farm ZEro C project, the successful candidate will develop techniques to collect primary and secondary content required to supplement economic projections of strategies presented by a Social Innovation Blueprint. The researcher will work closely with the Agricultural Economics research team to develop an accessible online platform. They will support team members across other relevant tasks and work packages.

Farm ZEro C is an SFI-funded collaboration between industry and academia aimed at addressing SFI’s Zero Emissions Challenge. Farm ZEro C aims to deliver a range of sustainable strategies which collectively can help to create a more sustainable and resilient dairy sector. The ultimate aim of the project is to develop a replicable net zero emissions model for dairy farmers. Farm ZEro C strategies include sustainable land management practices, deployment of bioeconomy and renewable energy technologies, anti-methanogenic dietary additives and improving and increasing farm natural habitats. Building on these strategies, Farm ZEro C will develop a business plan in the form of a social innovation blueprint which can be replicated among farmers to support a wider adoption of Farm ZEro C strategies throughout the agricultural sector. The innovation blueprint (business model) will be digitalised in the form of a web platform containing key commercial links, case studies, scientific reports, and other trust-worthy resources that will inform the farmer of how climate mitigation strategies have and can be implemented on farms and the results that they have obtained.

Contract Programmer (short-term) – Flutter, IoT and Data Analytics
