Dairymaster, based in the south west of Ireland, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of intelligent agricultural technology, with customers in 37 countries. Their technology solutions make farms more profitable by increasing milk yields, reducing milking times, cutting energy and labour costs, and improving overall herd health and conception rates.
Breakthrough technologies have allowed farmers to spend less time on the farm, consume less energy and operate in a more efficient and sustainable way. The IMaR Research Centre has assisted Diarymaster in this journey using Innovation Partnership funding. The IMaR helped Dairymaster to develop an auto-washer for the cleaning and sanitisation of on-farm milking machines. We also worked with Dairymaster to develop a device for detecting progesterone concentration in milk so as to determine if a cow is in heat and ready for breeding.
Dairymaster and IMaR have also worked together on a R&D partnership, funded through Europe’s Seventh Framework Programme, as part of a pan-European research consortium, developing an intelligent, next-generation robotic milking system which avoids the limitations imposed by current robotic systems.
The objective is for this system to incorporate automated teat cleaning, cluster attachment and post-milking disinfection on a scalable rotary milking installation. These technologies and the support of the IMaR Research Centre are unlocking new opportunities and delivering growth in the AgriTech space helping to make Ireland a market leader in the AgriTech space.
