Empowering Communities through Innovation and Knowledge Sharing.

At IMaR Research Centre, our dedication to fostering innovation extends beyond the laboratory. We believe in the power of community engagement and the transformative potential of sharing our expertise. Our outreach activities are designed to build bridges between academia, industry, and the public, promoting collaboration, sparking curiosity, and driving forward advancements in science and technology.

Our commitment to outreach manifests in a variety of dynamic programmes. We engage with schools through interactive educational experiences that bring STEM subjects to life, inspiring the next generation of innovators. Our involvement in community events, such as the Kerry Science Festival, highlights the vital role of science and technology in addressing real-world challenges, while our industry-focused training and collaboration initiatives ensure that businesses remain at the cutting edge of technological advancements.

Through our outreach efforts, we aim to create an environment where knowledge is shared freely, and innovation thrives. By partnering with educators, industry leaders, and community organisations, we work to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from and contribute to the advancements in science and technology. Join us in our mission to empower individuals and organisations, and to build a smarter, more sustainable future for all.

School Visit
Programme

We collaborate with local schools and universities to enhance STEM education. Our team of experts conducts interactive sessions, lab tours, and hands-on projects to ignite the curiosity of young minds. By partnering with educators, we aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications, preparing students for future careers in technology and innovation.

Kerry Science

For almost a decade, IMaR and the School of STEM at MTU have hosted the Kerry Science Festival as part of Science Foundation Ireland’s National Science Week. The primary objective of Kerry Science Festival is to bring to light the intricate workings of STEM in supporting society, and to engage local and regional communities in a range of STEM-based activities and educational events that inspire and showcase innovative solutions to these challenges.
