Dr Juncal Nogales is a Project Manager. Since Juncal joined IMaR in early 2020, she has worked as a project manager and clinical researcher on an SFI co-funded project; she has worked closely with industrial partners on projects related to hemp fibres and wind turbine blade-waste recycle and disposal options. She has also collaborated with the Smart Agri Hubs programmes run by ACE and the AgriTech Ireland Cluster. Juncal is a Biologist specialising in the marine, interested in the technical side of things. She has fifteen years research and industrial experience in marine plant analysis, microbiology and enzymology and QC role including product registration and industry audits. She received her PhD from the Institute of Technology Tralee for her investigation of the composition and potential applications of a by-product from seaweed extraction. Juncal is a researcher, a manager, a musician, a wife and mummy of two. She enjoys cooking, cycling, yoga, women’s meditation and playing the violin in the orchestra. She loves Spanish movies and anything related to natural ways of living and personal growth & development.
