
Dr. Lenka Krpalkova
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Fellow
Dr Lenka Krpalkova is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the IMaR Research Centre, Munster Technological University and has over ten years experience in research and education. Lenka completed her PhD in 2014 at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CULS). Her master's program focused mainly on breeding cattle and on evaluating and determining breeding values and selection indexes. The PhD studies dealt mainly with optimum replacement decisions in dairy herds and dairy herd economics. She has participated in several internships and/or working positions worldwide always focusing on agriculture (Czech Republic, Switzerland, Turkey, Germany, USA, Ireland). Her research interests include dairy technologies, big data analytics, application of artificial intelligence, machine learning algorithms, and software development. Core skills include SAS Base, R, Python, SQL and GIS software. In addition to her professional qualification, Lenka started the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme coordinated by Lero, the Irish Software Research Centre in February 2020. Her career goal is to improve her knowledge of the aforementioned areas and focus on enhancing farming systems whilst maintaining the environment and animal welfare.
